Take each day, one at a time

One day at a time - this is enough.

Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone.

Do not be troubled about future, for it has yet to come.

Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

About risk

There was a question read:

There are 3 frogs on a leaf. If one of them decided to jump off the leaf into the water, how many frogs are there left on the leaf?

*****************************
*****************************
Three. Because the frog only DECIDED to jump! It didn't!

Are you not unlike the frog, who decides to do this, decides to do that, but ended up not doing any? In life, we have to make many decisions. Some easy, some hard. Most mistakes are not made by wrong decisions. Most mistakes are made due to indecision. We have to live with the consequences of our decisions. And that is RISK.

*****************************

~~ RISK ~~
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas and dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.
He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or live. Chained by his servitude he is a slave who has forfeited all freedom.

Only a person who risks is free.
The pessimist complains about the wind, the optimist expects it to change, and the realist adjusts the sails.

About beauty

While packing, saw some old print-outs of emails.. here's one about beauty.

A quote from Anita Roddick, the founder of the "Body Shop", a naturalist, a person who loves nature:

The word "beauty" is old-fashioned. Somehow, something that everybody possesses has become an unattainable goal, an ideal beyond most of us. But isn't beauty a combination of humour, passion, activism, imagination, energy, vitality and curiosity? It certainly has little to do with the arrangement of your physical features. Seeing beauty as personal, individual and holistic, allowing everyone to appreciate themselves for who they really are, we begin to feel better about ourselves. And feeling good is looking good.

About love

Read about this sometime back, can't remember from where..

Love is a lot of emotional closeness, intimacy and a lot of trust and comfort.

True love is more than just feelings of excitement. Feelings of excitement will definitely be there, but you will also feel at peace around him and want to protect him.

True love takes a long time, even years, to grow and strengthen. What most feel, and it is definitely a BEGINNING for love, is a strong attraction, or lust or a crush. Sometimes it's a REALLY strong attraction, and it can be confusing.

Capital L, reaL, Live, soul-mate romantic Love.

Love is patient and kind. Love isn't jealous and doesn't brag. It isn't rude or crude. Love is honest and trusting; it seeks the truth and looks out for the best interest of others. Love doesn't hold grudges, but gives second chances. Love is hopeful and long lasting and totally, incredibly awesome.

A Simple Path

A Simple Path
A Prayer by Mother Teresa

The fruit of silence is prayer,
The fruit of prayer is faith,
The fruit of faith is love,
The fruit of love is service,
The fruit of service is peace.

When you face challenges..

"Be patient toward all that is unresolved in your heart. And try to love the questions themselves. Do not seek the answers that cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer." ~~ Rainer Maria Rilke
